Breaking News: Time to Get Out of the Shell and Fight Like Hell
Breaking News: Time to Get Out of the
Shell and Fight Like Hell
It’s quite something, isn’t it?
The sheer predictability of it all. A large number of people, analysts, and
concerned citizens practically begged the opposition parties to get their act
together in the national election, warning them that the BJP would pull every
trick in the book to "adjust" the results in their favor. And, lo and
behold, the BJP did just that. Yet, somehow, the opposition couldn’t muster
enough unity or courage to challenge the Election Commission of India (ECI)
effectively. They could have dragged the Supreme Court into this circus of
electoral crime, but instead, they stayed divided, giving the BJP a free pass.
Let’s talk about the BJP’s
uncanny ability to find leaders-for-hire like Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu
Naidu—political chameleons who are always conveniently "for sale."
These so-called leaders seem to have mastered the art of power preservation,
selling their principles to the highest bidder without a second thought. Moral
compass? Spine? Who needs those when you have political power to cling to?
Had the Congress, along with the
other opposition parties, shown even a fraction of the spine necessary, and
made a real fuss over those national election results, dragging the ECI to
court, they might have prevented the blatant vote theft we saw in Haryana. But
no, the opposition was too busy squabbling among themselves while the BJP
perfected its electoral slight-of-hand. It's not just people in India—folks
sitting outside the country could see the contradictions between how people
voted and the eventual results. After all, if voters are literally kicking BJP
leaders out of their villages, it’s not exactly rocket science to smell
electoral fraud.
But now, after the fact, the
Congress is making a feeble attempt to raise this issue with the ECI. Well,
where was this energy when it mattered? When will the Congress find the
backbone, the fire, that Indira Gandhi once had, and start kicking some doors
down to expose the truth? The public wants a leader who will fight tooth and
nail for their votes, not one who shrinks from confrontation. Infighting within
the party will get you nowhere, and meanwhile, the ECI continues its
vote-stealing spree with impunity.
As for those few brave lawyers
who tried to shine a light on this electoral fraud, they’ve been sidelined.
Why? Is it too risky to support people with actual courage? What are you so
afraid of, Congress? Unless the party finds the nerve to call out the BJP’s
blatant criminality, and the government agencies bending to the whims of a few
powerful leaders, the nation will remain trapped in this endless cycle of
political drama. And nothing will get done for the people.
If Rahul Gandhi can’t fight this
battle at the intensity it requires, then it’s time to let someone else lead
the INDIA bloc. Uddhav Thackeray, Arvind Kejriwal, Akhilesh Yadav, or Mamata
Banerjee—take your pick. They’ve all shown they’re more capable of going
toe-to-toe with the BJP.
Let’s take Arvind Kejriwal for
instance, a name the BJP has tried to sling mud at for years, accusing him of
corruption. Yet, after all this time, not a single shred of proof of his
corruption has surfaced. The BJP would love to paint him as corrupt, but their
efforts have failed spectacularly. Kejriwal, with his clean image, poses a
genuine threat to the BJP’s façade. Putting him at the top of the INDIA bloc
would not only add strength to the opposition but also bring the much-needed
noise around controversial issues like electoral bonds—something Kejriwal will
undoubtedly highlight and use to further expose the BJP’s dealings. He’s
intelligent, he’s got fire, and he’s not afraid to fight Modi with fire.
Blessed with vocal and fearless
leaders like Sanjay Singh in his corner, Kejriwal becomes an even bigger threat
to Modi than any other opposition leader. He has the potential to unite and
energize the INDIA bloc, making it stronger and more formidable against the BJP
machine. With a leader like Kejriwal at the helm, the opposition would have a
far better chance at dismantling the BJP’s dominance, exposing their electoral
tricks, and restoring a semblance of democratic fairness in future elections.
At the end of the day, every
political party claims its main objective is to govern the nation and lift
people out of poverty. But if elections are stolen, as they clearly were in
Haryana, the opposition doesn’t need to do much to uncover this fraud—it’s all
there, barely hidden beneath the surface. And yet, we know what’s going to
happen. For a few days, there will be noise, complaints, finger-pointing, and
outrage. But soon, everyone will retreat to their comfortable corners, and the
BJP knows this all too well. That’s exactly how they keep getting away with it.
So, opposition parties, here’s a
challenge: grow a spine. Take this fight to the level it needs to be fought.
Or, let the BJP continue to write the rules, bend the agencies, and steal
elections, while you stand by, watching history pass you by.
