Heads Must Roll: Amit Shah’s Border
Crisis Sparks Fury
When TMC MP Mahua Moitra recently
demanded that Union Home Minister Amit Shah be held accountable for failing to
protect India's borders, her words struck a nerve, but they weren’t without
basis. India continues to face illegal infiltration from weaker neighboring
nations, particularly Bangladesh, and in 2024 alone, the BSF reported over
2,000 border breaches. Shah, who has repeatedly promised to tighten national security,
now finds his leadership in question.
Moitra’s statement that Shah’s
"head must be on the table" has been criticized as incendiary, but in
reality, it’s a pointed call for political accountability. As the saying goes,
the captain goes down with the ship. When a leader fails in the very area they
were empowered to safeguard, the public is right to demand consequences. And by
his own admissions in public speeches, Shah has acknowledged these failures, making
Moitra’s remarks less of a provocation and more of a reckoning.
What’s more troubling is that
Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have used these very border issues to
justify calls for implementing the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the
Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in Bihar and other states. They position
themselves as protectors of national interest, while deflecting criticism for
their own lapses. It’s political maneuvering at its most cynical. They want to
weaponize failure for electoral gain, while silencing those who call it out.
Notably, Moitra hasn’t yet turned
her criticism toward Modi, who shares equal responsibility for these security
failures. This shows that her statement isn’t a personal attack, it’s a
spotlight on how power is being misused to distract from real shortcomings. If
the BJP continues to overreact to this critique instead of addressing the
underlying failures, they may find the backlash far more damaging than the
original statement itself.
This isn't about political
theater; it’s about who answers when the system breaks down. The public is
watching.
BJP has no moral journalists or intellectual leaders, just people who hide behind God to exploit religion. Twisting the TMC leader’s call for accountability is exactly what they’ll do, but only the foolish would misread her demand as anything but rightful criticism.
ReplyDeleteWell said, this is exactly what these people will do
