When Even the Children of the Privileged Class Can No Longer Stomach the Crimes of Their Own, Change Becomes Inevitable

When a young girl, a student leader, Neha Bora, stands up on the stage and challenges the most powerful leader of the BJP in UP, who has been bulldozing the homes of people his administration accuses of being criminals from the Muslim or Dalit communities, but leaves criminals from the privileged class untouched, this girl must have some strong balls.

Reading about Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, and other freedom fighters, some of these young guns remind us what it must have taken to rise against British rule. When any power becomes corrupt and biased, and treats one set of people with harsh, unforgiving punishment for crimes less serious than those committed by a privileged group that is treated with kid gloves for much worse crimes, the rise in anger is natural.

Human emotions are not always controlled by the caste and class that we belong to. Today, we are seeing a rise in anger among young people, some of whom come from the privileged class and are ready to challenge the BJP government in a manner that reminds me of pages from history books, when close associates of the British government funded the freedom movement from as far away as Europe and America.

When many of the children of BJP members provided funding for food and other items needed for the movement's success at Jantar Mantar, I feel this must have created the kind of fear in the BJP that is showing up in Modi and Shah's absence from Parliament.
